TeraWulf takes legal action against Town of Lansing — White Plains Real Estate news

The developers of a controversial data center project have taken legal action against the Town of Lansing. TeraWulf, a Maryland-based company seeking to transform the site of a former coal-fired power plant into a data center near the shores of Cayuga Lake, filed an Article 78 petition Tuesday in Tompkins County Supreme Court. An Article 78 petition is used to challenge the actions or decisions of state or local governments and officials. TeraWulf, which filed the legal action through its Lake Hawkeye LLC subsidiary, alleges in the petition that the town did not produce “legally sufficient” responses to at least two Freedom Of Information Law (FOIL) requests. It further claims that the town violated Open Meetings Law by communicating through the private email ListServ.  The petition was filed about one month after TeraWulf CEO Paul Prager threatened to sue the town over a proposed data center ban that would effectively halt his company’s project from moving forward.
